Whether an app has built-in dictation is not always obvious from its interface: sometimes the feature is hidden behind a subscription or available only on the web. How many apps actually have built-in dictation
We went through the potok.now app database and first excluded 3 closed services, so 161 active apps went into the count. For each one we checked the “built-in dictation” field against official documentation: yes, no, or unknown if the help says nothing about dictation. For example, in Word dictation is turned on through the menu Home → Dictate, while Google Chrome has no built-in dictation. “Unknown” is a gap in the data, not the absence of the feature: for 5 of the 28 apps with confirmed dictation, the help describes it only for the mobile app, and for desktop and web the question stays open.
